Dax Consulting was hired to design Veterans Sports Park at Tustin Legacy, the largest park in Orange County.

The park will be carved from 31.5 acres along Valencia Avenue at Severyns Road, on land that once belonged to the Marine Corps Air Base. It will serve all of Tustin, including the thousands of homes also being built on former base property as part of the massive Tustin Legacy development.

The 31.5 acre park is Tustin’s current largest site, which will consist of 11.5 acres for Tustin Sports Park.

Along with adding more ball fields, basketball courts and other facilities to Tustin’s roster, the park will be the first in the city to feature dedicated and lighted soccer fields. It’ll be the first to offer pickleball courts. And it’ll host Tustin’s first permanent skate park, adding to the portable skate park that opened at Pine Tree Park in fall 2013.

Veterans Sports Park at Tustin Legacy is expected to be completed Summer 2016.
